Apri Kusbiantoro

Apriyadi Kusbiantoro, born on April 21, 1976, is known as the comic artist of LEMURIA series and one of the founders of Urakurek Animation Studio. The studio headquaters in Jogja and specializes in animation for television serials as well as commercials.

Apriyadi graduated from the Indonesian Institute of Art, Jogja. He started to be involved in various art related projects since 1994 as he joined a design company at the same city. A year afterward, his friends from college and himself established Petak Umpet Comunity (now PT. Petak Umpet) and became both an illustrator and graphic designer for three years.

In 1998, his interest in animation took him to an animation studio in Jogja called Bening. Soon, he was appointed to become the lead animator as well as editor for the studio. Some of his works have aroused the interest of different advertising agencies and production houses in Jakarta, Indonesia. Later on he was involved in many animation and story boarding projects for a number of television commercials, music videos, and movies in Jakarta.

 

The combination between the love of Jogja and animation has brought him back to the city and in 2003, Urakurek Animation Studio was establised.
